For me, the one “killer feature” of Virtue over Desktop Manager was the intelligent switching of desktops when changing focus from one application to another. Under Desktop Manager, I would switch from, say, Safari to the Terminal only to discover that the terminal is on some other desktop. I’d have to hunt around for a while, or create a new terminal. With Virtue I’ve left all that behind
One thing I do wish Virtue had that DM has is the ability to assign key combos to specific desktops, e.g. command-alt-1 for desktop 1. Currently, I’ve only been able to use the command-alt-arrowkey combinations to move to other desktops.
Hi Duane, it should be possible to set key strokes for just about everything in Virtue, including specific desktops. Use the “Triggers” section of the preferences to assign your keys to specific desktops, and ensure you haven’t any other program overriding it (like QS - QS and Virtue use similar methods for capturing keystrokes).

I prefer Desktop Manager for multiple desktops in OS X. I’ve used it reliably for years. http://desktopmanager.berlios.de/
