U.S. Mints $1 Coins

CNN Money is reporting that the U.S. Mint has begun circulating $1 coins. Canada did that quite some time ago and I think it worked out well. We’ll have to watch and see what the rest of America thinks 
I was thinking about the other recent news about U.S. coins, too, and came up with a fun tagline: “U.S. Mint: We don’t make cents any more.”
Well, that’s not true yet. But it’s still pretty crazy how you can make a profit by hoarding the raw metal material in pennies and nickels.

Id say make a coin for anything under $10. These days whenever i get a five’r it ends up crumpled up in my change pocket with my loonies and twonies anyways. A ten’er is worth the effort to keep in a wallet or money clip. Cant even get a drink at a bar for $5 these days.
The US has had dollar coins forever but apparently not many people know about them :P. This is just the latest attempt at getting us to use them.
Yeah, I have a couple from the early 1900s and one from the 1800s! They made ‘em out of real silver back in those days.
Perhaps more people would care if they had any sort of intrinsic value. A round piece of metal stamped with “One Dollar” doesn’t excite me that much. It’s fiat whether it’s paper, plastic, or metal.
