Condition Builder 1.1

Thanks to Pawel Kondzior, there’s a little bug fix for the condition builder. Previously, making multiple “OR” blocks would make “AND” blocks instead:

Condition.block do |t|
	t.or do |u|
		u.and "b", 1
		u.and "c", 2
	end
	t.or do |v|
		v.and "d", 3
	end
end
# => ["(b = ? AND c = ?) AND (d = ?)", 1, 2, 3]

Now, as expected, it produces:

# => ["(b = ? AND c = ?) OR (d = ?)", 1, 2, 3]

Colateral Damage from Colateralized Debt

I’ve been learning about hedge funds and CDOs (”Colateralized Debt Obligations”) recently in the wake of the Bear Stearns funds collapse. It looks to me like this could be the beginning of the unraveling. Check out this article if you’d like to understand CDOs better. (Wouldn’t everyone?)

The Bank for International Settlements is also warning of dangers ahead, citing the Great Depression as a backdrop for comparison.

Personally, I’m not going crazy with fear, but as I’ve previously written, I decided to hedge my bets a little by investing in gold and gold stocks. We’ll find out soon if that was wisdom or overzealous worry.

  • New Ron Paul Blog for Utah

    In an effort to open dialog and promote conservative, constitutional principles of government, I’ve joined a group of Ron Paul supporters in starting Utahns for Ron Paul 2008 on blogspot. It’s already been instrumental for me in understanding some of the issues at stake in the next election and why true conservativism really matters.

    My most recent post is a summary of the interview between Tucker Carlson and Dr. Paul on MSNBC today. Take a look if you’re curious why it’s ok to trust corporations with personal information, but not the government.

    Please come on over and take a look… and I’ll promise to the rest of you patient folks who don’t give a dang that I won’t post quite so often about Ron Paul over here. :) treo mp3 650 ringtoneringtone treo 300verizon ringtones 710 mp3ringtones uploads 3g3gforfree ringtones verizonringtone air raid6170 ringtones nokiaringtones verizon absolutly free Map
